Labour saving device

Roadside trees in Mysore watered without human labour. An open tap at one end waters the row of trees down the road.

Clubhouse swimpool

Took this photo of the clubhouse swim-pool at our residential complex in Chennai, a couple of months back. Reflections are sharp, presumably, because the pool had not been cleaned to show up the blue flooring.

Sky in flame

Clouds camouflaging a rising sun over Muthukkadu Lake, near Chennai, makes the sky appear as if it is on fire.

Country life

Goats parking themselves on road, rain water on the mud patch, a vintage house and a leisurely pace reflect life in a Tamil Nadu village.

Weekend Reflections

What can one say for such roadside reflection, on stagnant rain water, other than that it reflects poorly on the upkeep of roads by the municipal authorities. The photo was taken on Ramavilas Rd., Mysore.

High Street Kelambakkam

The morning after a sharp shower the night before leaves city streets in most places in a mess. This was the scene the other day at Kelambakkam, an outgrown village along Chennai's IT Corridor.

Lonely walk home

Parted from its flock a lonely sheep is left out on the road to fend for itself. Took this photo on a pilgrimage to Thirukkadiyur, a temple town in Tamilnadu.

Udupi temple pool

Reflections on the pool of Udupi Krishna temple in Karnataka. It was early morning, sky was overcast and the sun hadn't yet made up its mind to shine over the shrine this morning.

A look-in

This guy looks in through our car window hoping for some eats. Stray cows are not an uncommon sight in our part of the world. They are accustomed to being fed by residents as they work the street - with kitchen waste, bread crumbs, left-over dinner, fruits, vegetable, anything edible.
We met this cow at the parking lot near Chamundi Temple , Mysore. She apparently had no luck with the car parked next to ours, with closed window.

Village pond

Safe drinking water is an issue in many villages. For the community pond is used for bathing , washing clothes and livestock. Gone are the days when the village pond was considered safe enough for drinking. Took this shot at Thirukadiyur in Tamilnadu.

Patch of water

It had rained in the night, leaving this street in my Mysore neighbourhood wet. You get this image - street light reflected on water patch - taking the shot from a certain camera angle.

Swimpool on the terrace

Swim-pool on top of an eight-floored residential complex on Chennai's Old Mamallapuram Road (OMR), a 30-km stretch that has come to be known as the IT Corridor. Almost every global Information Technology company has an office located there. Nearly 50 residential projects are coming up on the OMR stretch.

Number plate

As I focused on this James Bond code painted on the back of a car I had another photo meme in mind. And then I realized it makes a better fit here, at Weekend Reflections. I found this car parked at the University grounds in front of Crawford Hall in Mysore.

Clutter of footwear

Incidents of people losing their footwear at a place of worship in India are not uncommon. Such a clutter could be tempting for some to have ideas of leaving their worn out pair here, and after prayers, walking away with decent ones.

Crocs by the pool

These two are having a poolside chat, at the Mysore zoo. Wonder what they are on about. Maybe, wondering what they had done to find themselves at the zoo.
