Temple tank

Every other temple in southern India has a tank to go with it. The idea was to facilitate worshipers to wash their feet or bathe before entering the place of worship. In many places, however, the temple tanks are poorly maintained. This one belongs to Mayurnathar Temple at Myladuthurai, Tamilnadu.
My post for Watery and Outdoor Wednesday.

  2. Very pretty scene. I spent only ten days in India, with a dear friend near the Sahar airport in Mumbai in 1997. I did make it to Agra to see the indcredible Taj. I am praying to get back for three months with airline miles I've been saving since then!
