Supermoon in Mysore
No great shots, but the best I could get,with my camera and photo-skills (both basic). But then this was the night (March 19), when they say the moon was 15 percent larger in size, and 30 percent brighter.Has to do with distance between the earth and the moon last night. Pundits say she hasn't been this close to us since 1992; wouldn't be so close any other night, for the next 18 years. From my world in Mysore, I reached out the Supermoon as close I could manage - the terrace of our three-storey apartment block in Mysore.
My post for SOOC and ShadowShot Sunday.

Ah, the moon is always a beautiful capture and this one is definitely a special, BIG one! I was hoping to catch her this evening myself, but couldn't get a good shot. I have better luck very early in the morning as she is setting! Enjoy your day!!

Great job, it's difficult at best.
ReplyDeleteThe "super" moon doesn't look that large to me. I swear I've seen bigger ones this past october.

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. I haven't noticed the moon being bigger. Nice shots though. Nice cityscape.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I wish I'd known this and gone out to enjoy the view from here.
ReplyDeletebeautiful captures.

I'm seeing a lot of the 'super moon' photos today as I peruse the Shadow Shots...yours, too, is just terrific!! Well done.

Have a glorious Sunday!! Stop by to visit if you can find time. Your company is always welcomed.
I like the first shot especially. It looks as though the moon has been captured in a cage!
ReplyDeleteSHADOW SINGER
Of shadows an old man did sing;
He chanted in Guelph and Beijing;
The shade was his friend,
He loved it no end—
It made him feel rich as a king!

Great shot. Happy SOOC Sunday.
ReplyDeleteMine is here
The moon is always so hard to capture with basic equipment. I couldn't even see it for the clouds and when I did see it the morning before, I didn't have my camera. Nice captures!

Yes, I know what you mean--you need just the right camera and lens to get those "spectacular" shots of the moon, but this shot is still very nice. I need to "upgrade" my camera too so I can do more closeup work. Mickie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shadow shots!
ReplyDeleteHope you can visit my shadow shots even if it's late, thanks in advance!
I have a hard time taking moon shots...These are good.
ReplyDeleteThese are good shots compared to the camera! Caught you up there on the terrace when u captured that second shot
