Caged

You wouldn't feel comfortable if such animal is held anywhere other than in a cage. The tiger here, they said, had seen action in Hollywood movies. This place we went to is a ranch near Salinas CA (Steinbeck country). The ranch has bed/breakfast accommodation for animal lover tourists , and a spacious enclosures for animals and birds trained to face the camera and hired for filming to movie/TV producers.

Mad about cars.

Whenever we take a ride together in his dad's car, grandson Sidharth and I play this 'name-the-brand' game, every time a vehicle speeds by on road. I rarely get a word in edgeways. His play-room is littered with car toys. His parents have no hassle persuading him to have a haircut at this place in Pleasaton CA. I took this shot during a 2008 trip to US, when Sidharth was nearly three.

Shadow on the beach

At Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, on a sunny afternoon two summers ago. The shortest of the shadow is that of grandson Sidharth - spelt out on wet sand. He is flanked by grandma (on his left) and father.
