Sign of neglect

It is obvious that the corporate sponsor had long given up on the upkeep of this roadside green patch in front of the Yuvaraja high school on JLB Road, Mysore. The message here is in the blackened signboard, reflecting the anti-English sentiments of the Kannada activists. This is their way of expressing their feeling that the state isn't doing enough to promote Kannada.
My contribution to Signs, Signs.

  1. I think this patch sorely needs a new sponsor. Have a lovely day.

  3. The activists would have done better by improving the upkeep of the grounds. It would have demonstrated that actually care.
I really like your photo. Great capture.

  4. Or producing their own sign in Kannada.
But I can imagine their frustration in having their language taken over by English

  5. I find it interesting that they just blackened the words instead of writing over them.
