Temple tank

Every other temple in southern India has an attached pond, where pilgrims wash their feet, and many even bathe, before offering prayers. This tank at Vaidheeswaran Koil,Tamilnadu, is believed to have curative effect. In medieval days, they say, long-ailing believers camped for weeks on the temple premises to have a daily bath at the sacred tank.
My entry for Watery Wednesday.
